Quincy's very own District, where we all love to shop, dine, drink and be entertained, is in the running to be America's Main Street! At least, if our votes in Stihl's competition have anything to say about it. A buddy of mine in one of the other nominated towns shared this contest on Facebook, and I thought to myself, "Quincy really should be nominated...

The District handed out their 2016 Awards at their Annual Meeting and Recognition Dinner on January 31 at the Elks Club in downtown Quincy.  Over 130 District members, businesses and volunteers attended the event.

If you're like me, you're a fan of shopping local and supporting the local business people. I often find myself wandering The District right here in Quincy, stopping in the shops, seeing what kind of cool things I can find that you just can't get at a big box store...

The District will be hosting a seminar on the Downtown Residential Redevelopment Program (D.R.R.P.) tomorrow, Wednesday, July 13, at 5:30 p.m. at Martinis at 515.

If you wander around “The District” you will see several planters newly painted. During Midsummer Arts Faire, this weekend, you can watch art in motion, as several favorite local artists will be around “The District” painting more planters.

This summer's 19th season of The District’s Blues in the District Concert Series will kick off tonight in Washington Park in Quincy.  Starting off this year’s season tonight will be Katy Guillen & the Girls from Kansas City, Missouri and a finalist in the 2014 International Blues Challenge.

The District is pleased to announce the Concerts on the Plaza Series starting today, April 29th. Concerts on the Plaza will take place each Friday beginning today and then on Fridays May 6, May 13 and May 20.

Preliminary efforts are underway to attract riverboats to Quincy.

The District in Quincy has announce two major events coming up on Dogwood Festival Weekend.  Saturday April 30 is The District Street Concert and Sunday May 1st is the All Faith Celebration.

Quincy Preserves and The District are hosting a workshop to inform and educate building owners in The District on the Facade Program.  The workshop will be held April 20 at 7 p.m. in The District headquarters at 128 North 5th Street in Quincy.
