The District handed out their 2016 Awards at their Annual Meeting and Recognition Dinner on January 31 at the Elks Club in downtown Quincy.  Over 130 District members, businesses and volunteers attended the event.

Awards were presented to the Art Center – Painting Planters Project (Design Award), Quincy Area Convention & Visitor Bureau (Economic Vitality Award), Shaker Hill (New Business of the Year Award), Rokusek Design(Promotion Award), Lori Tuttle (Diplomat of the Year), City of Quincy (Organization of the Year), Nancy Dolan (Bob Mays Volunteer of the Year Award) and Silhouette Shoppe (Business of the Year).

In addition, The District introduced the Golden Points Award to recognize individuals and businesses for their continuing excellence and dedication to The District organization. Winners were the following: Potter & Vaughn, Signs in Time, Rosewood Custom Framing, O’Donnell’s Termite & Pest Control, Laser Images Printing Company, The Salty Sun, Maine St Magazine, Second String Music, Quincy Steamboat Company, Savemore Carpet, Bybee Insurance and The Business Centre.

“I want to congratulate the Silhouette Shoppe and all of our award winners for 2016.” Bruce Guthrie, Executive Director for The District said, “We are very fortunate to have so many volunteers and the community support that are willing to get involved and have genuine passion to make The District the best it can be.”

The District is a non-profit organization with the mission of promoting, revitalizing and preserving Quincy’s historic business district through broad-based community support, including both public and private partnerships.
