Quincy Police Department

The Blues in the District has become one of Quincy's more popular events. It is attended by thousands each summer. In the 17 years of its existence people from all over the area bring their lawn chairs and coolers and enjoy some wonderful Blues music and all at absolutely no admission cost.

On Wednesday, a Quincy man and his young child died in a fire at 515 South 17th Street. The call came in around 2:40 a.m. Quincy Police were on the scene first and pulled a person out of a window. That person told the police there were two others in the back of the house. The Quincy Fire Department arrived and pulled the other two out. They were taken by ambulance to Blessing Hospital. 25-year-old

The 28th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade is in the books. Many thanks to everyone for being in the parade and coming down to watch it as we finally "Ushered in Spring".  With over 100 entries, this year's parade was the biggest ever surpassing the previous record of 94 entries.

Illinois State Police District 20 Trooper Brad Williams was named the Law Officer of the Year today at the Quincy Exchange Club's 48th Annual Law Officer of the Year Award luncheon.

Knowledge of what the Quincy Department does on a daily basis is important. It is much more than writing up parking tickets, directing traffic and riding in the police car. These men and women put their life on the line everyday for us. But why do they do things the way they do?

Special Olympics-Illinois and local law enforcement will be holding a special fundraising event at Buffalo Wild Wings called Tip-A-Cop Night on Wednesday, February 5 from 5 to 9 p.m.

The Quincy Police Department has received several calls from residents about a possible phone scam.

The City of Quincy has been somewhat insulated from the problem of drive by shootings until last night.  The Quincy Police Department is currently investigating two apparent drive by shootings that took place last night.
