On Wednesday, a Quincy man and his young child died in a fire at 515 South 17th Street. The call came in around 2:40 a.m. Quincy Police were on the scene first and pulled a person out of a window. That person told the police there were two others in the back of the house. The Quincy Fire Department arrived and pulled the other two out. They were taken by ambulance to Blessing Hospital. 25-year-old old Daniel S. Dissler and four-month-old Hunter Dissler did not survive the fire. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Tragedies like this are so sad, especially when a child is involved. Two people lost their lives on Wednesday. Another one was saved, thanks to the work of Quincy's heroes. Officers with the Quincy Police Department and firefighters with the Quincy Fire Department risked their lives so others could be saved. What they did was heroic.

Thank you, and God bless the Quincy Police Department and Quincy Fire Department. You are heroes.
