It’s Time To Come Forward and Tell the Police What You Know

The City of Quincy has been somewhat insulated from the problem of drive by shootings until last night.  The Quincy Police Department is currently investigating two apparent drive by shootings that took place last night.

Quincy Police officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of North 16th and within minutes they were called to the 1000 block of North 24th in regard to multiple shots fired there as well. Apparently, two houses were struck with bullets at that location. These kinds of crimes seem to escalate unless someone steps up and tells the police what they know.

If you know something about last night's incidents, you have an opportunity and an obligation to put an end to this kind of violence in our city before it gets out of hand. Next time someone will get shot and it could very well be an innocent family member of yours. We read about these shootings in other cities and it is not something we want in ours.  It must be stopped now.
