Well, last Friday thousands turned out for "Flames in the District," and thousands may turn out this Friday for "Blues in the District!" The Rusty Wright Band will entertain the attendees at Washington Park for the season finale.

Originally Ce.Ce.Teneal was scheduled to appear, but could not make it. This event has been a huge success for the Historic Quincy Business District with large crowds turning out for the previous concerts this year.

If you have never been to a Blues in the District event, then make Friday night your night to come out and enjoy the great blues music. Make sure you bring your lawn chairs and your coolers with the beverages that you would like to consume. There will be plenty food available for purchase as a variety of local service clubs will be in competition serving Chili Dogs with everything else free of charge. You might even bring a light jacket as cooler weather has settled into the area.

One thing is certain, God was looking out for Blues in the District fans last Friday. Can you imagine the chaos that would have been created if there was a Blues in the District last Friday night? With cars and people all around the Newcomb Hotel, there surely would have been monumental problems for blues fans and the Quincy Fire Department.

Lets hope for a nice uneventful Friday night in the park to wrap up another wonderful season of Blues in the District..
