Methamphetamine

On Tuesday morning, Hannibal Police held a press conference announcing the arrests of 26 individuals on various drug-related charges. 21 of those arrested were taken into custody for distribution, and the remaining five were arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine or heroin, two drugs which Hannibal's police chief cites as areas of concern for law enforcement.

Hannibal Police report 26 arrests in August related to illegal drug activity. Police Chief Lyndell Davis says the arrests follow an investigation over several months by detectives assigned to narcotic investigations.

A late night search warrant Wednesday resulted in the arrest of John D. Benjamin, age 40 of 2603 Lexi Lane in Quincy.

Quincy Police are looking for a man they term a person of interest following a fire early this morning at 517 Sycamore.

A 41-year-old Quincy woman was taken into custody on numerous meth-related charges following the execution of a search warrant May 8 at her home on North 6th Street.

Yesterday was such a beautiful day for January.  The January thaw came early as the temperatures rose to nearly 60 degrees.  This, one week to the day when temperatures were around 15 below zero.  I went out to get my paper on the front step and I could hear birds chirping, the sun was shining and the temperatures were warming.
