On Tuesday night, the Adams County Board Jail Committee met to review some new developments regarding the possibility of a new jail being built. The decision to build a new Adams County Jail is in the hands of the voters in a referendum on the upcoming April ballot.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office would like to inform residents of a possible ongoing scam in the Adams County area.  Residents in the St. Ludgerus Road area and Royal Oaks Mobile Home Park have reported a subject going door-to-door soliciting residents for money.

The Quincy Gems are presenting a benefit softball game this Saturday at Q.U. Stadium with the Adams County Sheriff's Department taking on the Quincy Fire Department.  Game time is 6:30 Saturday night with all proceeds benefiting both departments.

The Adams County Sheriff's Department has sent out notification that someone is trying to scam people out of $250 to $500.  According to a news release from Deputy Brad Parrish, the Sheriff's office has received complaints that a phone scam is going on where people are being offered federal grants if they send $250 to $500 to them by Western Union.

The Lewis County  Sheriff's Office and the Adams County Sheriff's Office are looking for assistance in locating a stolen trailer.  On May 22 around 7:00 a.m. a 1977 John Deere 201 Implement Carrier was stolen from rural LaGrange Missouri.

The 24th Annual Teddy Bear Clinic was held yesterday at Blessing Hospital and it was a huge success. According to officials at Blessing Rieman College of Nursing over 300 youngsters and parents came by the 3 hour event.

Earlier this week the Quincy Police Department and the Adams County Sheriff's Department displayed an online program that will enable citizens to track crime in their immediate area. It's called RAIDS Online

Nothing could be more horrific than losing a child. We hear about missing children all the time on the national news and think that it only happens elsewhere.  Within the last couple of years it has happened here with a missing daughter of a Hannibal family and a missing girl in Louisiana, Missouri.
