Children ages 4-8 who are residents of Adams County are invited to enter the 2013 Little King and Queen of Dogwood Pageant. This year’s event will be held at the Quincy Mall Fountain Court on Thursday, May 2, at 7 p.m. There is no cost to enter the pageant.  Deadline to enter is April 26.

The Little King and Queen of Dogwood ride in the parade on May 4 and clip the ribbon at the opening ceremony at a Friday night Dogwood Block Party. Winners receive a Quincy Mall gift card.   According to the information provided by the Chamber of Commerce, Judges evaluate the children in three categories:

  • Charm: Does the child speak clearly and coherently? How does the child respond under pressure? How well would the child perform if interviewed by the media?
  • Appearance: Does the child smile, have stage presence, and seem happy and healthy? Is the child a good representative of the youth in our city?
  • Costume: Does the costume reflect the theme “Celebrating the Champion in us All?” How much effort went into the costume? Is it an original idea? Is the costume neat?

Registration forms are available at the Quincy Mall service center, which is located near Krieger’s, at the mall office during regular business hours, or online.
