Mayor John Spring

Mayor John Spring presented his State of the City address at the Quincy Exchange Club meeting today. Before beginning the address the Mayor complemented the snow removal crews and the Quincy Police Department as well for their efforts in handling our recent snow storm.

The unofficial line has been drawn as two men will be squaring off to be the Mayor of the City of Quincy. The incumbent is Democratic Mayor John Spring, who is looking for a third term as Mayor. His opponent is current Third Ward Republican Alderman Kyle Moore.

The number one question in Quincy this week is “what’s going on with the water?”  That question was asked even more today when a report came out on a Facebook post and other news web sites that a young Quincy girl was taken to St. Louis Children’s Hospital with flu-like symptoms.

In the midst of running to and from the radio station on Saturday I had the chance to squeeze in a few minutes to attend Rich Howell's 80th birthday party at Madison Park Church. Rich and I go back a few years with both of us being Exchange Club members and also board members for the Quincy Regional Crime Stoppers.

The Project Lifesaver Fundraiser Kickoff will be held today at the Quincy Senior Center at 639 York Street in Quincy at 1pm. Project Lifesaver is a program that assists families with Autism, Alzheimer's Down Syndrome and other related diseases
