Cash Mob Comes to Downtown

Quincy's first "Cash Mob" is set for tomorrow night in Downtown Quincy. Just what is a Cash Mob you ask? Well, its mission is to boost money into the local economy by selecting a particular store for people to shop on a certain date. That store will be Ice Scream at 616 Maine Street. The idea is for people to mob Ice Scream between 4 and 8pm and spend money while they are there to boost their business. Obviously, Ice Scream owner, Pat Taylor, loves the idea and I am sure he is quite excited to see it succeed. According to Travis Brown, the Executive Director of the Historic Quincy Business District, the plan is to do one "Flash Mob" each month throughout the year to aid other businesses in the District. It will be interesting to see just how successful tomorrow's "Flash Mob" is.
