A new ranking by Estately puts all 50 states in order of most to least scary based on several criteria.  Illinois and Missouri appear to be a little on the scary side, while Iowa seems pretty safe.

The rankings are based on several things including bears, snakes, spiders, murders, heights, tornados, shark attacks, hurricanes, dentists, meth use and clowns. Yes... clowns.
