Slate Assigns Porterhouse, Spare Ribs and Loose Meat as ‘Official’ Meats of the Tri-States

If each state in America had an "official" meat, what would those state meats be? That's the question Slate Magazine attempted to answer in the article 'The United Steaks of America.' Slate's effort is impressive. Meats were not allowed to be used twice, only mammal meat qualified for the list, and stews and sandwiches were not necessarily eligible. Lookout Fish, D.O. & The Big Dog Are Coming After You!

I am sure the when the word came down this morning that D.O. and the Big Dog will be catching all of the fish in Moorman Lake Friday morning during our morning show, the Quincy Park District officials sat up and took notice. Free Fishing Days in Illinois, Missouri This Weekend

If you have listened to the Y101 Morning Show over the years you probably know that on Free Fishing Days Dennis Oliver and I would go out and fish live on the air.  Sometimes we were at the Mississippi River. Other times at ponds and lakes in the area. Over the years I have caught a few fish during our live broadcast times, but Mr. Oliver has never caught a fish with me during those times or even during the off-air times. Not one fish has ever been harvested by him over a 20 or so on and off years of fishing with me.

Don’t Miss the Air Force Thunderbirds or Navy Blue Angels

Two years ago I wrote a scathing article criticizing the government for cancelling all of the Air Force Thunderbirds and the Navy Blue Angels performances in 2013. Well, after that year off due to government cutbacks, the Air Force Thunderbirds and the Navy Blue Angels resumed their high flying acrobatic shows all over the United States last year and are ready again this year.
