At age 24, Smith published the Book of Mormon and in the next fourteen years he gathered thousands of followers, built cities and temples, and created a religious culture.

Tickets to the Missouri State Fair Pepsi Grandstand concert series go on sale tomorrow morning starting at 9 a.m. through Ticketmaster. For four years I drove from South Kansas City to Harrisonville, Missouri to go to work. Every day I would pass by the exit ramp to the town of Peculiar, Missouri.  Inevitably, there would be a car pulled over by the side of the highway with people taking a picture of the sign that said 'Peculiar Exit'. Tomorrow will mark the beginning of Missouri's catch and keep trout season with nearly 10-thousand anglers casting their lines at four Missouri State Parks with the most notable being Bennett Springs State Park near Lebanon, Missouri. Thousands of foot long trout are stocked by the Missouri Department of Conservation for opening day each year.
