The Quincy Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary is sponsoring its 53rd annual Dress An Angel clothing project on Saturday, April 8. This year, as in the past 52, the women will provide a new Easter/Spring outfit and Bible for over 300 children ages 12 and under in the Quincy area.

The Quincy Salvation Army has assisted 16 people, helping them find permanent housing or maintaining their homes, thanks to a $5,000 grant from Ameren Illinois.

No child should ever awake on Christmas morning without a gift. With that in mind, I came up with an idea 8 years ago called "Load the Lobby". Basically, it was an empty floor in our station lobby that needed to be filled with toys for the less fortunate kids in the area. Next Friday at 9 a.m. is the last chance to help the less fortunate kids in the area by “Loading our Lobby” at the Y101 and KICK-FM studios with new or good used toys and books that your children no longer use. The River Roads Chapter of the Harley Owners Group (HOG) is organizing a Christmas Toy Run to benefit The Salvation Army’s 2016 Christmas Toy Town programs in Quincy and Hannibal.

The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center will be closing the facility for a week beginning on Monday, August 8th through Friday, August 12th as it undergoes facility improvements.

The Salvation Army will, again this year, distribute electric fans to those in need. The program will begin on June 13, and fans will be distributed as they are available in both Quincy and Hannibal.

Australia-based Christian music artist Phil Laeger will perform a free concert at Quincy's Kroc Center TONIGHT (April 3) beginning at 5:00 pm.

The goal for Quincy is $400,000. To date, $382,202 has been raised for the campaign.

The 7th annual Load the Lobby campaign has come to a close. Thanks to you, we were able to fill up an entire van, and an entire SUV with toys to benefit The Salvation Army's Toy Town, which will provide Christmas toys for over a thousand area children!
