Got a great news release today from the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

This event was held statewide this past Friday, the 44th anniversary of the beginning of Special Olympics. Quincy police Department personnel and volunteers from the Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association were at various intersections in Quincy on July 20th collecting money for Special Olympics Illinois. $6,000.00 was raised in only 3 hours. Amazing.

Thank you to all who helped and all who gave. Quincy is a great community.
