This Sunday morning, Flinn Stadium in Quincy will host the annual Special Olympics Illinois Spring Games. The weather is getting warmer and for Special Olympics Illinois athletes, this is a big deal.

We at Y101 and KICK-FM are looking forward to a great day. Through programming in sports, health, education and community building, Special Olympics Illinois is changing lives of people with intellectual disabilities, solving global injustice and isolation. Special Olympics Illinois provides opportunities for nearly 22,000 athletes and 40,000 volunteers. It takes many volunteers. Their oath is "Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt."

The Spring Games will be held on Sunday, May 3 at Flinn Stadium. Opening ceremonies will be at 10:30. The athletes will be competing from 11 to 1.
