Yet another shooting has occurred in Quincy with one man being taken to Blessing Hospital with an apparent gunshot wound. The Quincy Police Department has confirmed, according to a Herald-Whig report, that it is investigating a shooting near Eighth and York this morning.

According to the report, the incident reportedly shortly happened after 10 a.m. near Elder Body Shop at 814 York Street in Quincy. The Herald Whig is reporting that Jim Elder, the owner of Elder Auto Body, was outside his store when the shooting happened and heard three shots fired. Elder said he saw a scuffle start near the front of his store by an alley to the east of his building. Elder said he did not see the victim, but he did report seeing people fleeing the scene.

The report also indicated that another eyewitness reported hearing three shots fired during the incident. Police investigating at the scene report finding some shell casings in the area of the shooting. The Whig report also reported that The Early Childhood and Family Center has locked down its building in response to the incident.
