Ayerco Illinois is sponsoring a month long food drive for the Madonna House. Carl Adams of Ayerco Illinois, is matching a dollar per non-perishable food item donated. The goal is 10,000 non-perishable items. Non-perishable items can be dropped off at any of the bins at the four Quincy Ayerco locations.

Those locations are: 24th & State Street, 18th & Broadway, 2600 North 12th Street and 4727 State Street.

Statisticks of Adams County indicates that one in five children are at risk of going hungry daily and 10,300 of Adams County residents are living in poverty. Those statistics also show that 81% of low income working families need assistance with food. The Madonna House pantry is also serving more senior citizens as they make the choice of food or medication.

Since 1988, Madonna House has provided shelter, food, and emotional support to families in need. In 2013, Madonna House began their outreach Prevention Program by adding a part time Prevention Advocate and developing Madonna House Everyday Life Skills, attention with trends identified through national and local research, youth intervention has become the focus.

The Madonna House food pantry is located at 405 South 12th Street in Quincy and serves on average 1,000 individuals per month. The hours of operation are from 1 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. every Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 12 noon every Saturday.
