On Saturday, June 3, Quincy Faith Assembly Church located at 4000 State Street in Quincy is sponsoring a women’s conference entitled ‘Rise Up-Moving Forward’. Participants of the event are encouraged to bring house needs such as 13 gallon trash bags, Ziploc bags, laundry soap, diapers (size 4, 5, and 6), canned meats, soup, pasta, cereals, coffee and personal hygiene items to support Madonna House.

Since 1988, Madonna House has provided shelter, food and diapers, and emotional support to families in need. In 2013, Madonna House began it outreach Prevention Program by teaching Everyday Life Skills in New Start Rescue Mission, Fishers of Men, Quincy Senior High School’s 9th Hour.

Everyday Life Skill services are provided at Quincy Junior High School. Horizons Social Services, The Well House, Adams County Probation Department and Cheerful Home Day Care are working with youth 8 to 12 years of age with a focus on career decisions & exploration, community awareness and involvement and advocacy. Individual sessions are provided at an off-site location.

The food pantry is located at 601 State Street in Quincy, serving on average 1,200 individuals per month. The food pantry hours of operation are 1 to 3 p.m. every Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 12 noon every Saturday. Meanwhile, the diaper pantry is open Tuesday from 1 to 3:00 p.m.
