The Illinois Sheriff's Association has announced that it will be awarding $53,000 in college scholarships throughout the State of Illinois to students wishing to pursue higher education during the 2014-2015 academic year. The scholarships are to be applied to tuition, books and fees only.  The student must be enrolled full time at a certified institution of higher learning within the State of Illinois. Adams County Sheriff Brent Fischer will be awarding one scholarship of $500.

Applicants must be a permanent resident of Illinois and must be enrolled as a full time student.  Applications are now available at the Adams County Sheriff's Office or on the internet at www.ilsheriff.org. The complete application must be returned with a postmark by March 15.
