The Gem City Gymnastics & Tumbling Team recently participated in the 2014 AAU Junior Olympics in Des Moines, Iowa and came back with 2 gold and 2 silver medals.  The team also had one 8th place ,two tenth places and one 20th place finisher at the event. 

The two gold medal winners were 13-year-old Maggie Schutte of Quincy in the Advanced competition and 7-year-old Gage Woolen of Monroe City in the Sub-Novice competition.

Maurice Silas of Quincy (age 13) captured a silver medal and Emily Lennox (age 8) of Hannibal took home a silver medal in the Novice competition.

In the Intermediate competition, Brianna Barnes (age 13) of Quincy took 8th place, Kadence Haskins (age 10) of Barry, Illinois and Reagan Smyser (age 12) of Ewing, Missouri both captured 10th place honors, and Hailey Simons (age 14) of Quincy finished in 20th place.

The competition was held from July 23 through July 27.
