Eclipse Party Set for Monday on Quincy Riverfront

The Total Eclipse of the Sun will take place this Monday and Y101 Radio is inviting you to come to the Quincy Riverfront to experience it. The Eclipse will begin at 11:47 a.m. and end at 2:40 p.m. It will reach its maximum at 1:14 p.m. with 97.7% of the sun being blocked by the moon (98.4% in Hannibal).

Y101’s Michael Rose will broadcast his show live from the site on Monday.  The Butcher Block will be providing food for sale for lunch. Music will be provided by Rodney Hart and Friends of Second String Music beginning at 11:30. At 12 noon, Moon Child Yoga & Meditation by Mahala of the New Bodhi Tree Studio will hold a yoga session. You will need to bring your own yoga mat.

This kid-friendly event is open to the public at no charge on the Quincy Riverfront. Remember, you should never look directly at the sun including during this eclipse. Special glasses are available for viewing the eclipse at various locations.
