Can You Believe The Eclipse of The Sun Was One Year Ago Today?

Do you remember what you were doing a year ago today? Here's a hint, you were doing the same as millions of others were doing. Watching for the Total Eclipse of the Sun. It turned out to be a bust in Quincy as cloud cover moved in to prevent us from seeing much of it. Many were forced to watch it on TV. There were some "lucky" places to watch the event as down near I-70 in Missouri (Columbia-Kingdom City area) the skies were clear and people got to experience the event first hand.

The Eclipse began in this area at 11:47 a.m. and ended at 2:40 p.m. It reached its maximum at 1:14 p.m. with 97.7% of the sun being blocked by the moon (98.4% in Hannibal).  Unfortunately, the sun was blocked by 100% cloud cover here.

For those who missed it, last year, your next chance will come on April 8, 2024. Mark your calendars!
