‘American Idol’ Holding Auditions at The Illinois State Fair

If you've ever wanted to try out for 'American Idol,' this might be the opportunity for you. The hit Fox television series will hold auditions at this year's Illinois State Fair.

This year marks the first time in 'American Idol's' history that auditions have been held at state and county fairs.

According to the Illinois State Fair's website, "The Illinois State Fair will host auditions from 10am - 5pm on Friday, August 8 and 10am - 5pm on Saturday, August 9.. All eligible fairgoers between the ages of 15 - 28 will have a chance to audition during these two days. There will be no prior registration." The site has also posted a PDF of the official rules for those wishing to audition.

The 2014 Illinois State Fair runs August 7 - 17 at the fairgrounds in Springfield. Grandstand entertainment for this year includes appearances from the 'American Idol Live' tour, Robin Thicke, Magic! Pitbull, Florida Georgia Line, Boston and Hunter Hayes.
