Already this year, I've had the sad task of sharing a lot of stores that are closing their doors for one reason or another. In this case, it's the opposite. It appears there are at least two new Target stores that will open in Missouri soon.

Target seems to be one of the few companies that are actually opening more stores than they're closing these days. I noticed on their "upcoming Target store locations" page of their corporate site, there were two Missouri places listed.

The first one I saw is coming to Springfield, Missouri located at the SE intersection of West Sunshine St (MO Rte 413) and West Bypass (Us Hwy 160). The store will apparently be a big one at over 148,000 square feet.

The other incoming Missouri Target store is coming to midtown in St. Louis at 900 S. Grand Blvd in St. Louis city proper. I remember that this location a couple summers ago was a construction site.

I guess this is all part of Target's growth plan as I remember the website Costar share that Target hopes to open 300 new stores over the next decade. My guess is there will be even more announced for Missouri soon. I don't have any inside information, but the next ones will likely be in the Kansas City, Missouri area. Don't ask me how I know.

I am not pro or anti Target. I'm just glad to report on a store opening instead of the many in Missouri that have closed their doors this year.
