Local schools in the Northeast Missouri area took the challenge to buckle up.

One hundred and thirty-eight schools, including 28 out of 41 schools in Northeast Missouri, participated in this years Battle of th Belt Challenge, a compition to raise seat belt use among teens.

Five schools in the Northeast Missouri area will recieve state wide recognition for seat belt use that reached 90 to 94 percent seat belt usage. Those schools are Highland High School in Ewing, Adair County R-1 High School in Novinger, Marion County High School in Philadelphia, Rall County R-2 in Center Missouri and Pike County R-3 in Clarksville.
