So I have been trying to keep my New Year's Resolution to take a half hour a day to myself. It's been a challenge on some days, but for the most part I'm sticking to it. Well I tried something new this week and enrolled in a Pound class at the Kroc. And let me tell you, it was amazing.

For those of you unfamiliar, Pound is a cardio, core workout with drum sticks. You move and pound the drum sticks to the beat of the music and it's a lot of fun. I got a great workout and let out a little anger too in getting to hit stuff with sticks over and over.

There were about 15 or so people in the class. Some were really good and others (like me) were just learning the moves. They played a few bass-heavy songs which really helped everyone stay in time. And yeah, I fell behind and got lost a couple times, but I picked right back up. No shame though. I'll get better.

The class instructor, Gina, was amazing and super energetic too. She really pushes her class to get the best possible workout (even if I did mess up a couple times).

After the 45 minute class was over, I left feeling pretty good. I wasn't stressed. I felt like I had a great workout. And I slept pretty well that night too. I'm a little sore today, but I'm walking. And I know it'll get easier. I know I'll be back next time.
