If you wander around “The District” you will see several planters newly painted. During Midsummer Arts Faire, this weekend, you can watch art in motion, as several favorite local artists will be around “The District” painting more planters.

The Painting Planters Project is a community beautification effort, to paint the 52 planters in The District and enhance the visual experience for residents and visitors of the downtown area. The District, Quincy Art Center, Midsummer Arts Faire and Great River Economic Development Foundation (GREDF) have facilitated the project with the generous support of Home Depot. Painting Planters provides an opportunity for The District to bring added vibrancy to the planters, and to showcase other Arts activities in the community!

A full list of participating artists can be found at artsfaire.org/live-painting. You may also join these partner organizations at the next Quincy Art Center opening on Friday, July 1 at 7:30 p.m. for a special recognition ceremony for the participating artists.
