The 2015 Blues in The District Begins Friday Night

Friday night will mark the start of the 2015 Blues in the District concert series. The concerts are held in Washington Park from 5:30 to 9:30 and are free to the public. Kicking off this year’s season is Harper and Midwest Kind. 

Peter Harper is a multi-award winning Australian singer/songwriter featuring blues, soulful vocals, wailing harmonica and the deep wood qualities of the didgeridoo.  Harper is backed by his talented band “Midwest Kind”.  Harper has won 14 Blues Awards including a Gold Record in Australia, USA, Canada, and the UK.

The Kohl Wholesale Food Court for Friday night will include The Butcher Block, TCBY and free popcorn from Ludwig Auto Body.  Corporate sponsors for Friday night are Gardner Denver, Quincy Medical Group, Quincy Park District, RL Brink Construction and Ludwig Auto Body.

Additional dates for this year’s concert series are June 26 (Grady Champion), July 10 (Matt Roberts Blues Band), July 24 (Coyote Bill), August 14 (Jeremiah Johnson Band), and August 28 (Hector Anchondo).  All the details about the Blues in the District concerts can be found online at www.thedistrictquincy.com
