Taking Care of the Fish and Environment at Mark Twain Lake
Many trees were collected during the annual Christmas tree recycling program. The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers is now seeking volunteers to place trees at several established sites in Mark Twain Lake.
The trees will be bundled together and sunk in Mark Twain Lake developing an underwater habitat for young fish to feed upon, and all this work encourages the growth of alge and zooplankton.
Residents of the Mark Twain Lake community willing to contribute their time and equipment to assist the Corps in placing the trees can meet at either the John F. Spalding or South Fork boat ramp on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 9 a.m.
