January 30, 2013 Just two days ago the price for a gallon of gasoline in Quincy was $3.28 a gallon. Forty-eight hours later it went up and now it jumped again today. Gas is now $3.39 a gallon in the city.

The 27th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Quincy is set for March 16 at 11 a.m. The parade route is from 12th to 5th on Maine Street. The lineup is from 12th to 24th on Maine Street. There is no charge to be in the parade. Just have something green on your entry and have fun!

On a whim, I decided to do a search for "Quincy, Illinois" on eBay. 936 active listings returned. There are a lot of postcards for sale, along with photos, promotional pens, hats from old businesses, and yearbooks. There are also listings for a few items that I thought were particularly interesting.
The area's first real taste of weather has arrived. Temperatures started out mild, but have fallen below freezing, and a mix of rain and snow has become all snow. 2 - 4 inches of accumulation is predicted for the Quincy/Hannibal area.
Multiple media outlets, including WGEM, The Quincy Herald-Whig, and KHQA are reporting that Quincy Firefighters were called to the scene of a fire at 633 State Street in Quincy.
Quincy Community Theatre is celebrating the season with two holiday productions: 'Inspecting Carol' and 'The Santaland Diaries.'
