Wow. It's truly hard to believe that high schoolers put on a show like that. Then again, they've been doing it every year since 1955. If you've ever seen Quincy High School's annual "New Faces" show, then you've come to realize just how much talent resides in that building. For me, seeing my third show in a row, I'm still amazed at what a group of over 200 young people are capable of pulling off each time I see it.
Quincy Senior High Schools famed Q-City Pommers are heading to state again. The squad, know for years now as top rate in the state, qualified Saturday,February 23 at regional competition held in Highland, Illinois.
It will be brother coaching against brother Saturday night at Blue Devil Gymnasium as the Quincy High School Blue Devils host the Marion Catholic Spartans. The Blue Devils are coached by Sean Taylor and Marian Catholic is coached by Mike Taylor.
The sports scene in Quincy is heating up with a couple of young men making a name for themselves: Luke Guthrie in golf and Jack Cornell in football.
