Owners Asked to Not Park Their Vehicles in the Gus Macker Area Sunday Morning

The 26th Annual Gus Macker Basketball Tournament will be held in Quincy on Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29. The event has been hosted by the Quincy Exchange Club with all proceeds going to community project in the area. Thousands of dollars has been put back into the community over the previous 25 years. In helping you, the Exchange Club could use some help back especially for those who live and park their cars around Washington Park.

Seven Years Ago Today We All Lost a Friend….R.I.P. John Tripp

They say with time things become easier to handle but I am not so sure. I have never handled the loss of my best friend John Tripp seven years ago today very well. You would think after seven years that it would be easier to accept, but its not.  He was 58 when I got the call of his passing from a heart attack. It was a call that numbed my body from head to toe. I was driving to Kansas City and don't remember much after that.

Rick Hummel Addresses the Quincy Exchange Club

The Quincy Exchange Club was honored to have Baseball Hall of Famer and sportswriter for the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Rick Hummel, as its speaker today.  Hummel, a Quincy native and 1964 graduate of Quincy High School, became the first Quincy person inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York in July of 2007 when he received the J.G. Taylor Spink Award for baseball writing.
