Opening day in baseball should be a national holiday in America. The 2015 season began Sunday night with the Cardinals beating the Cubs in Chicago. Millions of Americans and Canadians will be heading through the turnstiles into ballparks to watch their favorite teams.

It is a true sign of spring when Major League Baseball teams arrive for Spring Training in Florida and Arizona. Such is the case for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox and the Kansas City Royals next week.

For 29 years fans of the Kansas City Royals have waited for a post season game and now the Royals have made their way to game one of the World Series tonight in Kansas City. So now the dilemma begins for the Royal fans. Do I mortgage the house to buy a World Series ticket of should I stay home and watch it on TV.

With the start of the World Series comes some interesting moves in the radio business. A few months ago, Lorde came out with a song called 'Royals,' and it was written about former Kansas City Royals third baseman George Brett. It has sparked a fued between the two cities.

Anyone who knows me, knows I'm a huge baseball fanatic. I will literally watch baseball all day long if I get a chance. I've watched 4 games in a day before. I watch the Little League World Series, the College World Series and any Major League Baseball game I can find the time for. I probably need an intervention.

So there you are, sitting at beautiful Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, watching a Royals baseball game, when all of a sudden you get hit in the eye with, not a ball, but of all things, a hot dog. That's right, a hot dog, which was tossed at you by "Slugger," the bigger than life mascot of the Royals.

Major League baseball is underway with its post season play so I thought this would be a good time for me to take a look at how my pre-season picks went for this baseball year and pick the World Series winner.
