I am sure the when the word came down this morning that D.O. and the Big Dog will be catching all of the fish in Moorman Lake Friday morning during our morning show, the Quincy Park District officials sat up and took notice. The concern is that the two of us will catch all of the fish in the lake ahead of Saturday's Fishing Rodeo at the same lake.

If you have purchased baseball or concert tickets, most likely you went through Ticketmaster to get them. Well Y101 Radio did the same thing, except instead of buying something, we are giving it away to someone. That someone can buy what they want and that person might as well be you. How much you ask? Well, how about $1,000?!

The Sunset Home in Quincy is hosting a fundraiser celebrating their 125th Anniversary tonight at BoodaLu Steakhouse in Quincy. All proceeds will benefit their elevator modernization fund. The event will be held at BoodaLu Steakhouse in Quincy from 5:30 until 8 p.m. and the theme is a Wine Pull to generate donations.

It funny when people walk into my office and look around. I have pictures on every wall and people usually stop and ask who is this person or who is that person? One set of pictures always gets asked about.

April 25 is a very special day for me and four other people. It was 29 years ago today that 99Q hit the airwaves of the Hannibal-Quincy area. On April 25, 1985 at 5:30 a.m., WQCY-FM changed its format, as well as my life. The format went from “Easy Listening” to “Top 40″ and with it a legacy began.

Today at Y101 Radio is the equivalent of the first day at a new school. The initial day at that new school is always an anxiety attack waiting to happen only because of the newness of it all. Well, such is the case for all of us here at the radio station.  Today marks the first day of our usage of a brand new broadcast system and like day one of being in that new school, it is day one for us.   Re

I am new at blogging. I will admit that. But somehow it seems the right thing to do. I have many things I could blog about. I am not the kind of blogger to create waves but it will not be a sugarcoated blog either. I love reading blogs but never thought I might be writing one.
