The 18 Annual Walk to End Alzheimer's will be held at Clat Adams Park on Thursday, September 3 in Quincy. This year's goal for the fundraiser is $70,000. The money is raised by the many individuals and businesses who donate to the cause. One such business is the Butcher Block, where they will be holding their annual Alzheimer's Cookout today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Butcher Block is offering meat bundles to be purchased for the Madonna House Food Pantry. The $10.00 meat bundle include two lbs. of ground beef and pork mix, two lbs. of pork sausage, ten lbs. of potatoes, two lbs. ground deer meat (donation program) and two lbs. deer steak (donation program). This will make eight meals for a family of four.
Things are shaping up to be a perfect night to enjoy chili dogs and the blues at Washington Park tonight. From 5 pm 'til 9 tonight there will be several civic groups participating in selling a variety of chili dogs as a fundraiser during the final Historic Quincy Business District's Blues in The District.
