Blues in the District

The lineup of performers for this year’s Blues in The District has been announced. June 8th will kick off this summer’s season number 21 of the Blues in the District Concert Series presented by Blessing Health System.

Blues lovers, make sure you mark these dates so you don't miss one note this summer ahead.

If you love free outdoor concerts the next few days should be right up you alley. This Thursday there is free music to enjoy in Quincy, Hannibal and Canton with the Quincy Park District's Music in the Park, Hannibal's  Music Under the Stars Series and Canton's Summer Concert Series continuing.

Blues in the District returns to Washington Park in Quincy this Friday with Big Al & The Heavyweights performing from 5:30 to 9:30.

Tonight the second installment of the 20th Anniversary of "Blues in the District" will take place as the Catfish Willie Band performs in concert at Washington Park in Quincy.

If you missed the first Blues in the District of 2017--and judging by the size of the Washington Park crowd, you didn't--but IF you did, you missed not one, but TWO amazing performances. Hurricane Ruth absolutely SLAYED the stage with some crazy good blues tunes--an awesome kickoff to the 20th anniversary season...

With hot and humid weather in the weekend forecast, we don't blame you if you hit the pool and work on your tan. However, if you don't want to swim, there are several fun events going on this weekend.

If you attend The Blues in the District tonight you might see some people selling raffle tickets during the event. In honor of this being the 20th anniversary for Blues in the District, the District will be raffling off a "Weekend in Chicago".

The Blues in The District will be celebrating its 20th anniversary when the season kicks off this Friday. The 2017 lineup for this year's free concerts will begin with Hurricane Ruth performing Friday night.

You know it is almost summer when "Down By The River" rolls around. This year's opener will take place in Hannibal at the Y Men's Pavilion on Friday, May 19. The opening act, sponsored by Hannibal National Bank, will feature Madd Hoss Jackson.
