Phillip Phillips was scheduled to have surgery today (May 29) but it was postponed when the ‘American Idol‘ Season 11 winner came down with a raging fever upon developing a sinus infection. Surgeons won’t operate under such conditions so it had to be rescheduled. Aw, poor Phillip. He’s in bad physical shape right now, despite the big win just under a week ago.

Hollie Cavanagh performed Journey‘s 1983 smash hit ballad ‘Faithfully’ on ‘American Idol‘ tonight, and though she tried gamely, it seemed some of the song’s vocal range and urgency eluded her.

Ah, Thursday night, when another ‘American Idol‘ contestant’s dreams are crushed into a fine powder snorted by record executives who need it to fuel their demonic souls. Let’s see what Steven Tyler is up to, shall we?

Thursdays on ‘American Idol‘ mean someone goes home. Or is maybe forced in front of a firing squad in the back lot, which would explain why most of the finalists fade into obscurity after being booted. They’re dead! (No no, they’re not. Only their careers.) Let’s see how many bullets Steven Tyler has in the chamber.

It’s Wednesday, so that means new comic books, Prince spaghetti day, ‘American Idol‘ and a few bon mots from Steven Tyler. Let’s do this thing, yo.

Stevie Nicks, Tom Petty, each and every one of the Heartbreakers and classic rock fans in general got dragged through the mud tonight on ‘American Idol‘ as Phillip Phillips and Elise Testone sucked all the sultriness and texture from the classic duet ‘Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around.’

If you’re an American Idol addict like so many others, you surely saw the ‘Top 10′ perform a rendition of Billy Joel‘s ‘The Longest Time’ during the intro of tonight’s (March 22) broadcast. ‘Idol’ judge Steven Tyler slammed various contestants last night after their Billy Joel attempts and this performance seems unlikely to change his mind.
