A Skate park in Quincy is getting closer and closer to reality. Members of the Adams County Skate Park Movement wants to get the word out about skateboarding as a healty sporting activity. And are getting somewhat closer to the reality of a skatepark in Quincy.

They are doing the best they can right now raising money and awareness. They will be having a car wash and cookout, Saturday, June 2nd at St. James Lutheren Church parking lot at 17th and Jefferson streets. Their has been interests in the past few years to get  a nice skatepark build out side but for one reason or another it just did'nt work out. Now, the movement has kicked it up a notch by going to the Quincy Park District for some help, since the skatepark will be in one of Quincy's parks. You gotta give the skate park movement a big pat on the back to the kids and adults who want to see this happen. It will take time, many fundraisers and hope to get it going. Find out more info at the upcoming car wash at 17th and Jefferson in Quincy.
