There is no water in the village of Kinderhook today due to a water main break there. Officials are confident that water will be restored later today followed by a boil order for the Village. With no water available, Western Community Unit School District #12 canceled classes for today. That got me to wondering.

Why would you cancel classes because the water fountain is not working? I have no idea.  The state subsidizes school districts for students being in classes and just because there is no water available kids got to stay home. My how times have changed!

A few conveniently located portable potties and some bottled water surely could have gotten these students through the day until water was restored. This makes no sense to me. Does it to you?  If so, enlighten me please.
