Salvation Army Dress-an-Angel Project Set for March 19
The Quincy Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary is sponsoring its 52nd annual Dress-an-Angel clothing project on Saturday, March 19, 2016. This year, as in the past 51, the women will provide a new Easter/Spring outfit and Bible for over 300 children ages 12 and under in the Quincy area.
Each year, other area churches, community groups, organizations and many individuals donate items and financial support for this program. We want to continue this wonderful collaboration again this year as we share with families in our community. Because need continues to increase, The Salvation Army requests community support and donations of both new clothing and financial gifts for our program this year.
The public can assist the Women’s Auxiliary by donating new purchased clothing (children’s sizes - infant to 16/18) or with a financial donation for the purchase of new clothing, Bibles and personal care items. Donations would be appreciated by March 16th.
Clothing and donations of personal care items may be dropped off at the Kroc Center at 405 Vermont. Checks should be made out to The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary and delivered to the Kroc Center or P.O. Box 75, Quincy, IL 62306-0075.
Those wishing to apply for assistance from the program may turn in an application between now and March 19th, Monday through Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. at The Salvation Army Family Service Center at 501 Broadway in Quincy.
To apply, proof of residency and guardianship is needed. For more information about this program, please contact The Salvation Army Family Services office at 217-222-2087.
