Hutmacher Wins Search for the Weight Watchers Chef on ‘The Chew’
Over the past five weeks, chefs from around the country have been competing on the ABC television program ‘The Chew’ to become the next Weight Watcher’s Chef. Chicago chef – and Quincy native – Ryan Hutmacher won the top honor during the February 19 broadcast.
As the winner of the competition, Ryan has earned a $75,000 grand prize, and a one-year consulting contract with Weight Watchers as the Weight Watchers Chef. The runner-up in the contest was Lisa Fontanesi, a family cooking expert from Los Angeles.
Ryan is the co-founder of Centered Chef in Chicago, “ a unique culinary studio focused on integrating clean eating experiences into social and educational platforms.”
After graduating from culinary school, Hutmacher apprenticed at several restaurants in France, and developed a passion for natural, regional ingredients, which he incorporates into his work.
