With Spring Training underway this week, the playing of spring games will soon follow. Baseball has been slow to make changes to its game but there will be one change this season and that involves who can go to the pitcher's mound during the game. Up until now it has always been the manager or pitching coach and the players who are on the field who would be eligible to go to the mound for a conference with the pitcher during the game. Well, beginning this season it will get a little more crowded as Major League Baseball has agreed to allow an interpreter to also visit the mound with the manager.

With so many foreign players now playing in the major leagues I am surprised that this hasn't happened a long time ago.  So look for the pitchers mound to have more than the manager standing there this season.
