The winter pickleball league ended December 21. Pickleball has been very popular in Hannibal, with leagues at Admiral Coontz Recreation Center and outdoor courts at Norfolk & Southern Multisports Complex.

Pickleball combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. It is played on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net with a paddle and a plastic ball similar to a wiffle ball.

Pickleball equipment and courts are available for play at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center, which is open 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.
