Quincy will soon have five new elementary schools opening, with the first one opening in the fall of 2017. With that comes new names for each of the schools, and QPS wants your input.

A new superintendent's committee is being put together in hopes to name the new K-5 schools being built in Quincy. Monroe Elementary, which is slated to open fall 2017, will be the first to get a new name. Time is of the essence since the architects will need time to get the sign developed and constructed.

So QPS is now looking to the community in helps with finding new names for the five new schools. The new superintendent's committee will run the same as the boundary advisory task force, in which they will come up with names and ask for the communities input.

No meetings have been set up for the potential new names of the schools, but we will keep you updated on when they are scheduled so that you may attend.

What you would you like the new schools to be named?
