Grab the family and head to Scotties Fun Spot this weekend for Dark River Derby Coalition's home bout.

The DRDC will face the Fleur Delinquents this Saturday (August 29th) with the bout starting at 8:00 pm (doors open at 7:30). Proceeds collected at the door with benefit the Quincy Civic Music Association.

Roller Derby is gaining popularity, and the teams always put on a great show. So head out to Scotties Fun Spot this weekend to support the girls of DRDC. I saw my first bout back in June and without really knowing what to expect, I found it exciting and easy to understand. People of all ages came out to support the women of DRDC who put an insane amount of work into their craft and into assembling a competitive roller derby team.

The atmosphere is family friendly and I promise you will have an awesome time. Admission is $10 at the door and kids 12 and under get in free (and the team will stick around afterwards for photos and autographs too).

If you would like to be part of the DRDC, they are always looking for volunteers. If you would like to be a part of the team (and you're at least 18 years old) there is open recruitment all year long. For more information about being part of DRDC, visit their Facebook page or website.
I'll see ya there this weekend!
