Here we sit twenty miles apart as the crow flies and no public transportation between Hannibal and Quincy. A town of 40 thousand has no connection to a town of 20 thousand people unless you drive yourself.

I saw that the new Lincoln-Douglass Elementary School opened its doors for public tours this afternoon, and curiosity got the best of me. I HAD to check it out (and I’m glad I did). Although I’m a few decades past elementary school age and hadn’t actually set foot inside an elementary school in many years, I was thoroughly impressed by everything the facility had to offer. Anyway, check out some of these pictures and tell me you’re not a little upset that you can’t be six years old again.
