Dustin Gorder, Glenda Hackamack and the rest of the staff of the The West Central Illinois Center for Independent Living (WCICIL) will have a busy day today. WCICIL is hosting a celebration to mark the 22nd Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. According to Gorder, there are an estimated 4000 people with disabilities in Adams County based upon the national average which states that one in five Americans have a disability. The celebration is being held today at the Quincy Senior & Family Resource Center. The event will feature exhibitor booths, assistive technology demonstrations, city officials, state legislators, and keynote speaker, Bert Jeffrey. The event is free and open to the public.
