Frontier Settlement Day

It is one of Quincy's most cherished possession, The Log Cabin Village on Quinsippi Island. If you haven't been there for a while, then make Saturday the day you go as the 10th Annual Frontier Settlement Day will take place.

The Friends of the Log Cabin Village are selling raffle tickets to raise money needed to re-store and re-build 1828 Fraser Log Cabin, a former Stagecoach Stop on the way to Ursa.

The Friends of the Log Cabins are inviting folks to their 8th annual free Frontier Settlement Day on Saturday, September 10 from 11 to 4.  The festival will be in the Lincoln-era Log Cabin Village on Quinsippi Island in Quincy.

The annual Frontier Settlement Day is rapidly approaching and work has been on going in preparation for that event.  Unfortunately, Mother Nature has not be co-operating. Due to last Saturday's rain, the workday in the Log Cabin Village has been moved to this Saturday, September 3, from 8:30 to noon.

This Saturday, August 30, from 8 a.m. to noon, the Friends of the Log Cabins need volunteers to help spruce up the Log Cabin Village located in Quinsippi Island Park, Quincy.

The 5th Annual “Free” Frontier Settlement Day is this Saturday, September 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Log Cabin Village in Quinsippi Island Park, off of Bonansinga Drive in Quincy.

The Friends of the Log Cabins has scheduled a work day on Saturday, September 7. Volunteers are needed to help install a drainage area around the Herleman Cabin, remove weeds from the Clat Adams Cabin Site, sweep out log cabins and the log church to prepare the village for Frontier Settlement Day which is Saturday, September 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Friends of the Log Cabins are seeking help to raise the funds, needed to restore the Lincoln-era Log Cabins on Quinsippi Island. They are looking for people to participate in the first annual “Walk for the Log Cabins."
